Have a Kit Kat. Anyone remember this popular advert?
Dingli Cliffs again and this is a cute little chapel dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene on the cliff edge. And on a bench by the side of the chapel 3 persons are resting after their walk.
The chapel was built in 1646 on the site of an earlier one which had existed since at least the 15th century. Its simple architecture is typical of Maltese wayside chapels. The restored chapel was inaugurated in 2007. The chapel was hit again by lightning during a thunderstorm in 2014. The damage was subsequently repaired and the chapel reopened one year later.
For those who asked yesterday about the little old farmhouse. I am convinced it is not lived in and possibly built recently with old stone to show how farmers lived many years ago when they wanted to be close to their fields and transport was by horse or mule. I have seen a similar one on another walk to Mġiebaħ some months earlier and a placard near the house explained how farmers lived when close to their fields.
Thank you for your views, comments and fav's.
Yes, I remember that ad!. Nice picture too! And if that chapel could talk it would have had a lot of interesting stories.. but I'm happy you pass them on Dione :)
Beautiful blue sky, I see contrails from an airplane..... let’s hope things return for the airline industry. Is this perched on the edge of the ocean or farm land? Lovely resting spot.
Lovely little chapel.
Wouldn’t mind a Kit Kat just now!
I remember the Kit Kat advert really well. I worked for quite a few years as production planner for the plant that made 2 finger Kit Kats in York.
