Christine and I love to take some time and go out in the car looking for Christmas decorations around the Island. This is the Lija Belvedere Tower lit for Christmas.
The tower was built in 1857 as a folly within the private garden of Villa Gourigon, it is now located on a roundabout. In the 1950s, part of the villa's garden was taken over by the government to make way for the new Transfiguration Avenue. The belvedere was retained as a roundabout, and it is now one of Lija's landmarks. The tower was restored in 1995 and 1996, and it is listed as a Grade 1 protected property.
Thank you very much for your looks, comments and fav's.
