From my country walk at Mġarr. A milestone in the name of King George. Signs like this would normally indicate the distance to Valletta – Malta’s capital city. During World War II these indications were removed in case of an invasion by enemy troups. In the background is the village of Mġarr dominated by the local parish church.

Great capture, love the light in this. Great information, I did know that sign posts were taken down during the war. Must have been equally confusing for us, though I suppose people stayed in their communities more than they do now.
