This photo was in 2010 when Grandad was 90 and we'd been at a lovely Glasgow restaurant to celebrate, with Laura and Susannah. It was such a happy occasion. Grandad passed away three years later aged 93. Grannie did so well adjusting to living by herself and we had her here to stay and at Christmas, and taken her to Skye to stay with her older sister Mary.
Last night, after a couple of weeks in hospital, dear Grannie passed away peacefully. She fell, again, and had more surgery just before New Year. We saw her just last week, day by day, enjoying Allan's storytelling and memories of days gone by. She had one daughter visiting on her 95th birthday on Wednesday and her other daughter a couple of days later.
But her time had come and sharing faith at these landmark times in life, we can peacefully prepare for what remains to be done, knowing she is in God's care, free from pain and full of joy.
Three good things
1. Gratitude,
2. Great Grandmothers, Grannies, Mums
3. Family sharing the planning and procedures.
Allan’s lovely mum the granny with the very sweet face….so very sorry to read this but as you say her time had come & she will be safe with her maker. She will be having a good old chin wag with your dad & mum & Allans dad. Deep condolences to you all, you will miss her. Xx
Lovely photo, Allan looks so much like his mother
