Camera Settings Challenge - Long Shutter Speed

Murphy is a pretty sound sleeper - good thing, because with just the ambient window light in my cave of a family room, I had to use a 0.4s exposure to take a picture of him!

The camera was in shutter priority (Tv) mode and Auto ISO. I feel like he's a bit overexposed, but there's lots of nice detail in his fur that I don't usually manage to get...so...maybe not?

The only editing I did was to fix the white balance and crop out the messy tabletop in the background. :)
Really cute! You do have good detail in the fur. If you wanted to, you could adjust the black point a bit.

@dmcoile Goodness, that made a huge difference! I'm still feeling my way around editing - white balance, cropping, messing with overall brightness I'm pretty good at. I had no idea what that little slider for "black point" did! Thanks for the tip! :) Now I wish I could upload the new photo.

Great! It's a pretty cool tool sometimes.
