Wood you look at this

Just got done stacking the last of the split firewood and saw the sun going down over the pile. I knew it was time to go in.
That is a lot of firewood. Would you use that in a full year?

That's one healthy looking stack of wood Terry. Any more accidents in the splitting??? Hope not. What sort of wood is it? We buy redgum wood which is the "ducks nuts" of wood down here. It burns hot and for a long time. It costs us roughly $85 per metre. Good job here - you must feel quite satisfied and pleased with yourself.

What a great stack. We move into our new house in 2 weeks and there are 3 large gum trees there that just recently fell. That,s next winters fire wood taken care of :-)

You've been busy! You should be warm this winter!

Well I hope you didn't suffer any further injuries splitting the remaining pieces. I still hurt from watching that one clip.

I'd say you earned yourself a a few nights of sitting on the couch with remote in one hand, beer in the other and a big fire blazing in the fireplace!

Your hard work will pay off when you have toasty warm toes in the winter...
December 4th, 2011
How many cords did you stack? Looks like a pretty good amount!
December 4th, 2011
@olivetreeann each rack is about 16 ft long and I have 5. I wooooood say a bunch
December 5th, 2011
I'd say that is a maniac pile of wood! How fun to catch the sun just then!

You’ve been pretty busy! Do you do this every year? We have a gas fireplace which we have only used about five times in the entire twelve years we’ve lived here. Although the gas is easier, it kind of takes the fun out of having a fire.
December 5th, 2011
@lisjam1 Believe me, if I was not total electric, I would look into a gas one. The work and mess involved makes me wonder if it is worth it. If it was not for my wife's arthritis , I wouldn't do it.

You are going to have one hell of a cozy winter! Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I'm kind of a firewood freak because I have a fire every night! So a huge wood stack and a sunset = total fave for me. I'll have to take a photo of our wood stack to show you.

I love your title, it's so punny (hahaha) - great job Terry, and glad to see there were no further injuries! I'm wondering if you want to come stock our cabin for winter now. Perhaps you could bring some of that delicious food you showed us recently as well.....
