While mom, grandma and big brother loitered about in Paia, Dai and I drove down the road a ways for a geo-hike up a river valley. We'd called off the attempt several days before, as heavy rain and high water made the route impassable. Today the flow was still fairly high, and we got super wet, but it was a fun hike and we got to the Earthcache coordinates (and back) without too much drama. Plenty of steep and slippery terrain, wet stream crossings and some ropes and ladders made it an adventure!
