So sad. That first Christmas after a loved one has died is always the worst isn't it.

Thanks all hope you had a enjoyable day with friends and family. just as I entered the house, coming back from the graveyard, we had 22 mm of rain. We need rain desperately.

The very act is comforting - flowers mean more!

All so very new & raw Sylvia, a hard time for you all.

Perhaps the rain was his way of thanking you for the visit. Stay strong.

Blessed Christmas Sylvia. As I thought about it yesterday, I was going to challenge you to photograph a memorial of some sort, and I see you did that! Very poignant, and very hard too, I'm sure. I hope it was a blessing for you.

So now, I have a different challenge. I remember quite a while back you mentioned there were a lot of things you couldn't get out to do because you needed to stay close to home. I want you to go do or photograph something that wasn't possible during that time ... something you were longing to be able to do ... and photograph it for us.

Very thoughtful. I know how difficult these milestone occasions are without him. It's really great that you can photograph through it.

Sylvia, when I saw this picture, I realized that I was not following you and so had missed knowing of your husband's death. I'm sure this first Christmas without him must be difficult. I hope your daughter and granddaughter's visit is helping you get through this time. This is a lovely "faceless portrait." I'm correcting my oversight and following you now.
