No photo today. Didn't even get to eat until supper time. Took my mother to Casualty again yesterday evening. Was called in to be with her before breakfast. She is still managing to just hang in there. So here is a very old pic of Cape Francolin eating crushed corn in my backyard instead, for another 365 friend who was asking what kind of birds they are.
@islambad I'm not too sure that these ones would appreciate or understand being cuddled. They are wild birds tempted to my backyard by the promise of an easy meal. They have learned that when they sit on the back wall and call, I usually come out with a bag of food. Then I sing out frankie, frankie, and they come flying over the swimming pool to a couple of meters from me and I put down separate handfuls of grain for them, but I have never wanted to tame them more than that for their own safety. They mustn't think humans are to be trusted
I do understand. I sometimes worry that one of my little chickens is too tame. She happily joined some builders we had doing work & even sat in their van with them at break times. Thankfully they loved hurt but there is no knowing.
