Pilansberg Game Reserve by seacreature

Pilansberg Game Reserve

My twin grandsons (children of my stepson) slept over last night and we were up at 4am to bundle the sleeping boys into the car for the 2 hour drive to Pilansberg to be there when the gate opened. One of the twins is quickly bored, and within an hour he was asking if we could go home now so he could play on the PlayStation. The other enjoyed it and took an active interest in looking for animals.

It is a small game reserve, and we didn't have a huge number of sightings, but it was wonderful just to be out in the bush. This was a huge herd of elephant with lots of babies amongst them crossing the road in front of us so I had to just shoot through the windscreen and hope for the best. Amazing how something so large can be so totally hidden in the thick bush.
A stunning capture Desi, you sure are far from home. Hope you are having a great time. Fav

@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. Turns out the cost of the plane ticket was shared amongst my daughter and two step children. But my daughter had promised me a trip to a game reserve, so the day trip to Pilansberg was her special treat for me. And then she also arranged for all the family to come around for dinner and some gifts

Just so amazing, love it! What an experience! It was probably very good for your bored grandson to get outside and “see green things” (as we say around here. In your case it might be brown things.)
