He had even spoken to his surgeon about this photo! When the surgeon was talking to me at the foot of Don's bed after he had passed away, he told me Don was so proud of my photography, and he described this photo so well I knew instantly which one it had to be, so clearly Don had described it to his surgeon in detail.
