Fabulous image! Love the composition and the mist creates a very somber mood. The way your cormorants behave is amazing!! Here they are pretty much loners.
@lynne5477 Thanks very much, Lynne @narayani Thanks so much Narayani. Indeed, our cormorants seem to be very much part of huge flocks. It is interesting when they fly up river to their roosting spots at night to hear the sound of thousands of pairs of wings flapping in unison @ludwigsdiana Thanks so much Diana. And thank you for the fav
Seem to have missed a lot of posts recently. This is a great image - deserves more exposure - send it to a local newspaper. Two lines of antagonists after the same prey. On the lake I work on now, all the trees are dying because the cormorants aren't killed any more - apparently they eat twice their bodyweight in fish - so naturally fishermen don't like them.
@anniesue Thank you for your comment and amazing insights about the lines of protagonists. I love that. I am interested to know why the trees are dying because of the cormorants? Do the cormorants cause harm to the trees in some way?
Although the shot seems moody and somber, there’s a lot of life there with the fisherman and all those birds. @annie-Sue’s perspective was a very interesting way to look at it.
