Still practicing and trying to get a shot suitable for the "Natural Window Light Portrait" challenge. Although I am unlikely to win the studio lights that are up for grabs, all this practice, and having a reason to practice, has already made me a winner anyway ...
aha! very much more engagement. The pink softly warms the shot - and as @narayani says, the lighting is excellent - whatever you're using to fill in isn't too harsh
@narayani Thanks so much, Narayani. The lighting is because I am suddenly becoming more aware and learning to "see the light" better so I realised that if I used a corner of my lounge where there are windows on walls at right angles, I could perhaps get back lighting from one window and fill lighting from the window diagonally opposite. Just goes to show how important a challenge like this is - learning by experience, not just reading theory, is so important
@anniesue Thanks Annie Sue. Part of the challenge is that you are not allowed to use anything (not even a reflector) to assist in the lighting. Has to be natural window lighting only, and if I cheat, the only person I am cheating is myself, so I am sticking to that rule. Fill lighting in this case is another window on the wall at right angles to this one.
