Nationwide rolling blackouts have resulted in me scratching around in the garage with torchlight while I can't work. Considered perhaps trying to clean up and rejuvenate this old storm lantern, but I suspect it is too far gone? Perhaps I will try and find a new one
A fabulous golden oldie Desi, I remember them when I was a child on the farm. There are so many varieties on the market that one can recharge. Our home is full of solar lamps etc.
Do these ever become “too far gone”? I think if you can still get the wick, they last forever! We have some solar camping ones we use if there is a black out. Nice photo!
@narayani It may be too far gone if I can't open the screw cap to refill it. I have sprayed some "tool in a can" lubricant on the moving bits to try and loosen them up. At the moment I don't even know how to get the glass out to clean the inside of it because it is quite rusty and nothing is moving ....
