The ones that didn't get away

These two guys seemed to be catching one big fish after another in the early morning mist, this morning. I actually had to leave because it made me feel so sad.Yes I eat meat. So I know I sound like a hypocrite. But the fish were put into a bag alive. I asked why they didn't kill the fish so they didn't suffer and was told they have to keep them alive to keep them as fresh as possible until they get home.
Could at least put them in a bucket with water. Even before I read your text I got a feeling about this shot - a sort of greedy energy in the man on the left.

They’re not going to stay fresh in a bag! You get a much cleaner, tastier fish if you kill it straight away without it pumping out a whole lot of stress hormones!

@anniesue It's interesting you should say that. I wonder if my feelings about this show in the shots or if I was feelings were not unjustified about the fishing. I was feeling at least hunting is kinder - the hunter kills the animal quickly and cleanly and it is over without suffering. But seeing the fish put into a bag still alive really upset me.

@narayani I would think you're right - but I haven't done much fishing except as a small child with my parents on the Zambesi river. Then we only caught what we could eat that night. All fish not suitable for eating had the hook very carefully removed by my Dad, and were quickly thrown back in the river
