Evening sun

Another evening walk. These days I am not only planning the dog walks around when it is cool enough, but also around loadshedding. At the moment the power is just on again early morning so I need to use that time to do some chores. Power last few days has been off from 6pm - 8:30pm (as well as 2.5 hours in the middle of the day), so it makes sense to walk the doglets in the evening after 6pm instead of the morning, right now.
Beautiful shot and colours. I am typing right now with loadshedding as we have bought a little battery.

Despite the reason I do think it's good to visit places at different times of day ... because they look different!

Lovely light. That must make life difficult.

I had to look up “load shedding”? But tough.
But nice photo.

@ludwigsdiana Oh awesome. My son in law gave me a small inverter / battery so I can keep my wifi going through the loadshedding. Makes a psychological difference to have at least one important luxury still operational.

@anniesue Yes you are absolutely right, and I must make more effort to get out at different times and also different places! Life has been a little higgledy piggledy lately but perhaps I can start trying to learn to adapt.

@narayani Thank you. Actually I am one of the very lucky ones. Although we all experience the same amount of loadshedding, it impacts some people more than others. I don't have to worry about trying to get babies bathed and fed, or children's homework seen to after a tough day at the office, and cooking for a family after work. I am at home on my own so I can adjust my routine to prepare meals or shower etc. when there is power, so I really don't have anything to complain about.

@johnfalconer Thank you very much. Loadshedding is a bit tough. But the toughest part is what it is doing to our economy. It is destroying the economy and the fabric of society. Butchers have freezers full of meat going rotten. Just recently 40,000 chickens suffocated because the fans stopped working when the loadshedding was extended longer than the backup batteries had allowed for. Farmers can't irrigate crops and there are insurance claims for crop losses. That kind of thing is inevitably going to push up the price of basic foods
