We have been at the Olympics and the England v South Africa test match for the last 4 days.
On tuesday we were at the Beach Volleyball on Horse Guard's Parade in London. The venue was incredible. We were overlooking the London Eye. and Whitehall, while other stands could see Downing Street and St Jame's Park towards Buckingham Palace.
The sport was great fun, and the stadium announcer got us all into the spirit at 9am in the morning by playing great music and getting us whooping and cheering for the teams, the dancers, the guys raking the sand, the volunteers, the officials, Team GB...the list goes on. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson put in an impromptu visit and started a Mexican Wave.
We had such fun, and were lucky to find that our last minute tickets were in the Press Tribune area, so we had a great view!
Here is a picture of Argentina's Maria Zonta diving in vain to reach a ball struck to the back of the court by Elsa McMillan of Spain. For the record. Spain won the match.
With nearly 1000 photos this week, I am rather spoiled for choice.....I have yet to take one today!!
@fannyb Thanks Fanny. This has been one of the most memorable few days of my life. I keep thinking of the things we have seen and done as a family and it brings a little tear to my eye. I confess, the outfits did it for me.
