Stormy Symmetry by seanoneill

Stormy Symmetry

Symmetry, from the Greek word Symmetria.

The meaning is a precise and well-defined concept of balance or "patterned self-similarity" that can be demonstrated or proved according to the rules of a formal system: by geometry, through physics or otherwise.

This is a view from underneath an electricity pylon looking straight up. I know I am not the first to do this, but it has been on my list.

Taken today at Barrow Upon Soar, Leicestershire.

Very well done, Sean - I never thought about doing that and it is such an excellent idea! Wonderful geometric patterns!

I feel straddled by a spider. A rather dynamic image Sir Sean, good show.

Ha ha Bulldog is selectively dyslexic!! Very clever shot Sean, never thought to look up the meaning, anyway ran out of time for mine!! Shouldn't get too close to these towers you know!!
September 25th, 2012
Something like this is on my list, but I have to find one I can access first. Nice perspective and perfect symmetry!

Your Greek is up to scratch too!!
FAV!

Great shot!! This is on my "list" as well :) Congrats on PP.
September 26th, 2012
Well done for PP!
September 26th, 2012

Fantastic pov! Very abstract feel as well.
September 27th, 2012
Congratulations on a great pylon photo!
They are not easy to do without getting a stiff neck but you have managed to get the symmetry exactly right/
September 27th, 2012
Great pov
September 27th, 2012
Great photo Sean, love the clouds above the pylon, the perfect backdrop! You are having such a great week, well done after wondering where you were going with it all last week.
September 27th, 2012
Original angle!
September 27th, 2012
Fantastic lines!
September 28th, 2012
Well i just love this! But i would like to know if they feel the same way about these electric pylons in England as they do in America! I have been told by my realator that the reason no one wants to by my house in N.Y. is because we have one of these right behind it!! They say that they can cause Cancer! Have you ever herd of such a thing in your neck of the woods?...lol...I told her that well i have 3 siblings and we are all in our 50's and no signs of Cancer so far!! :)
