New Covert, Hoton emerges from the mist. by seanoneill

New Covert, Hoton emerges from the mist.

A very misty day today, though as I upload this the sun is coming out and we have a lovely blue sky emerging over East Leake.

I went back to a place that I have previously shot today to try and use the mist to create a big negative space.

PP 16th November 2012
The grass looks very well cared for

Gorgeous. Love the subtle lines in the grass giving it so much texture. The angle of the hill is fabulous.

Love this simple shot & bold outlines.
November 15th, 2012
I love the simplicity! Have we driven past these three trees?
November 15th, 2012
This is ace Sean, I did an indoor shot today precisely because of the flat grey sky. I could obviously do with a dose of your inspiration :)
November 15th, 2012

A very striking capture! Like the slope. 1000 favs--well done you!!
November 16th, 2012
@ruthmouch Thank you Ruth, it shouldn't matter, but it does!! Never in my wildest dreams could I have anticipated the wondrous comments my photos get in here, and the incredible work I see from people like yourself. I don't think I can hold a candle to what you do.
November 16th, 2012
@seanoneill I think you are too generous and underrate yourself! You produce some superb images, and the encouragement we get here really inspires us to try even harder, and there's nothing like the feeling you get with a few favs....so 1000 must make you feel really great!!!!! and you deserve all of them!
November 16th, 2012
Stunning composition Sean, what a great eye to see this and crop or compose it this way!
November 16th, 2012
PP Sean, well deserved!

November 16th, 2012
really like this Sean - fabulous negative space
November 16th, 2012
Love this. Saw it last night, but didn't get a chance to comment. Instant fav!
November 17th, 2012
So simple, and such a cracking shot. Less is more
November 17th, 2012
I like how you have captured this mist Sean... simple and stunning with your eye travelling across the fields and up to the tree line. When I took my foggy photos yesterday I didn't get the WB correct, think I may have been better with AWB or Custom as a lot of them came out a tad blue?!
November 17th, 2012
@jackie8 thank you Jackie, I think Auto WB is always best unless the situation is extreme. Here I waited for the mist to start lifting so the tree was in view but the sky was just a blanket of white, do I guess timing was key.

Lovely capture!
November 17th, 2012
Awesome composition and high key sky! The green is so lush...fav!
November 18th, 2012
Very nice Sean.i would be interested to see it with a b&w conversion!
November 18th, 2012
@yrhenwr No problem David, How would you like to see it, a simple conversion or darkened? I've a couple of other album spaces going back over the last couple of days, could put it up quite quickly.
November 18th, 2012
@seanoneill Whatever will give it a more ethereal quality Sean. Silver Efex Pro would offer a selection of presets. Given the misty look I wouldn't want to darken the corners ... but what do i know? See if this one gives you any ideas: http://365project.org/yrhenwr/365/2012-11-18

I am rather fond of it, because a year ago this scene would not have inspired me, and now I can see so much in it. Hubregt, yes we did drive past this.
November 18th, 2012
@ruthmouch I am very proud Ruth. Living in a socially uninteresting part of the world, I gravitate towards your project because it challenges my perception of the world. My local area can never do that. Thank you, you are incredibly thoughtful, and I always look forward to your shots, and your feedback on mine. :))
November 18th, 2012
@yrhenwr Looking at your shot then, I think just a simple conversion does the trick with neutral density applied in CS5. I have just advised my good lady that Silver Efex Pro is what I would like for christmas. I will tag you when I post the shot, in a few mins.
November 18th, 2012
Love this, it is a great shot, love the white against the green. a fav!
