The road ahead by seanoneill

The road ahead

The road ahead on the way home from taking Ben to school this morning. It is Melton Lane on the way down towards Brickyard Lane and West Leake.

I was struck by the criss cross of vapour trails, the remnant sof steam from Ratcliffe Power Station and the low dark clouds that are the portents to the storms due today and tomorrow. I thought that Silver Efex Pro would bring out the drama in them, and I am not disappointed.

Rebecca has been asking me to shoot this particular scene for some time. So, Rebecca, this one's for you my love.

Blimey, I've posted a shot taken today!!

Watch this space for some more power station shots taken last night. Will start posting tomorrow when I have had a good look through them.

This shot looks very nice on the black background.

Looks like a lunar landscape, really dramatic Sean! Yes, I know what you mean about posting shots taken on the same day.... once we pass over the 365 mark it feels different and not so imperative to take/upload on the same day! Our 365, our rules I say!

Very dramatic - looks like a still from an American Road Movie.

Love the colour one, but this is amazing too! :)
May 14th, 2013
This is great too, but I think I prefer the colour version. It has more impact to me :)

Super mono landscape. I'm following, have looked at your power station/cooling tower shots as well, very impressive. I like colour as well and see you have done some a couple of month ago. Like the effects you get from Nik silver efex.

Ooh ooh instant fav ooh!
May 15th, 2013
Very dramatic and a bit eerie due to the dark, dark sky. Would be interesting to see of you could make a lighter, brighter version too.
May 15th, 2013
This is so amazingly different from the colour, almost looks like a different place. I think it does have an eerie look too.
May 15th, 2013
Love this too, the B&W really accentuates the clouds and jet trails.

Marvellous shot Sean. You have used Silver Efex to brilliant effect to bring out your vision. Imagine how long it would have taken to achieve this in a dark room!
