Another view of the font at Salisbury Cathedral, this time looking towards the west entrance of the cathedral.
In this shot I have straightened the verticals, but will post the original shot in my second album, albeit with some subtle selective colouring.
My preference is for this version. PP 07/11/2013
In local news near us, a young 4 year old girl was savaged to death yesterday by her pet dog. My heart goes out to her and her parents. Rest in peace little one.
Super capture, Sean. I love the detail and the mono works so well. Fav
We have had dogs all our lives but these dreadful occurrences must remind us all that children should never be left with a dog. Such a tragedy. Of course, near us, two girls mowed down in the early hours of Sunday morning in Gosport. I probably taught their parents or grandparents. So sad. Neither family will ever fully recover.
@gooner46 Thanks Chris, I read about the girls in Gosport, and I had tears in my eyes when I read that one of the mothers kissed her daughter goodbye as she lay in the road. Heartbreaking.
Truly inspirational image....that architectural detail of the entrance alone is superb...never been but I hope to one day!
Such a tragedy for the little girl & her mum.....that daughter was her whole world & she will never get over that.. What a massive dog that was ...I think all dogs of a certain type should never be re homed but put down with dignity...controversial but it has to start somewhere. Licences for dogs is a MUST too.
I love the shot, but can't decide if that's water or a very shiny floor! Fabulous pov. By the way, Peter says you may be thinking of the bridge at Tempsford which also has lots of arches.
Mmm I can't make my mind up between the two. They are both very good, and its a brilliant pov.
Such a tragedy about the little girl, and your final words bought tears to my eyes. I'm afraid we regularly see big uncontrollable dogs being walked round here, and have even caught them attacking our sheep. I have to agree with Pat on this one, and even though i hate red tape, there does need to be some new legislation bought in on this.
I like this one Sean but actually prefer the other!

yes I heard about the little 4 year old. Devastating for the family. So very sad and unnecessary. :(
