A shot from monday's trip into Nottingham. We came back via a garden centre and that brought us home past the trees at Widmerpool.
I am not entirely happy with this one because of the shadow and light on the field, but I do like the sky. Needless to say there are going to be many shots of this landscape in the future, it appeals to my eye!
I am tempted to do a several year project of this place, shooting every 3 months and ending up with a 4x4 collage as the trees grow. I would appreciate any thoughts.....
Love those lines in the dark part.
I like the idea of a seasonal collage. Always wanted to try it - never found a location for it. Looks like you have. :)
Now that is thinking ahead and would make a fantastic collage I think. I like the field here, it emphasises the highlighted track/road leading the eye to the tree lined horizon and of course that wonderful sky.
Great shot Sean. I like the way the clouds on the upper left is balanced by the track on the lower right. It might be even stronger if the trees had a little more bulk (leaf). But you could return many times before you got a sky like that again.
Another fav. Love the composition. You can probably fix the shadows on the field you aren't happy with with a few layers? I would love to see a several year project of this spot, it seems like a perfect location for it!
Fav! The horizon and the road are dividing up the rectangle in smaller rectangles following the golden ratio. Fantastic! Was it on purpose or did it simply 'feel right'?
I like the leading lines and the composition very much.
The idea of a montage depicting tree(s) in each season of the year is a project that appeals greatly to me and I can quite see why you're drawn to making one with these trees.
I think this is a super shot - simple and effective.
Like the idea of shooting the landscape over a period of time. Would every 3 months show a great difference in growth of the trees - perhaps a longer interval would be needed.
