A fabulous shot Gloria, your neighbour is right. They grow wild here wherever there is a spring or a trickle of water. I personally like to decorate food with them but not eat them. Have a great weekend too. Fav
Oh yes - the "edible flowers" ploy. A friend of mine told me that too.
I have tried them but wouldn't recommend them or try them again!
But a truly beautiful capture. Fav.
Fabulous details and lovely colour. They are often used as decoration on food. They are edible and if I remember correctly they don't have a very strong flavour.
beautiful - I should photograph mine again. I eat them a lot they are great! The flowers and the leaves are edible - the leaves are quite peppery, great in salads and stir fries. The flowers are sweet. @4rky if you just plucked them from the plant and ate them standing there, they probably were not very good. If you use them properly in dishes they are wonderful :) it would be like telling someone to pick a sprig of rosemary and just eat it, compared to using it to flavour a dish :)
Yes, I have read this before that nasturtiums are edible and the petals are used to decorate dishes. Never tasted it, though. A great close-up shot of it.
