These are two red-eared sliders stacked together on a tree trunk. It's common for turtles to stack like this due to lack of space or lack of enough sunlight to dry out. This was a long-distance shot taken at Green Lake last week.
Amazing capture. Turtles are always something you just happen to see while you go out to shoot other wildlife photos, I never plan on capturing a turtle, but I sometimes see them when it is my intent to go out and find a great blue heron, or other wildlife I want to paparazzi.
