I'm up and about again today but not going too far afield. I was wandering the house looking for circles (so many but not great for a photo), when I noticed my daughter's bow and rosin on the piano. She passed her Violin grade 8 a couple of years ago and doesn't play quite so much now as her uni studies take up so much time. It's been nice hearing her play today.
Instant fav as we are all violinists in our house ❤️ Boys are brilliant, I am really a pianist but enjoy violin too. Only took violin up when I was 50 lol so a long way to go!!
Glad you are up and about. Hope you feel back to normal soon xx
I am rubbish at music and can’t hold a tune. I just about managed the Triangle and Maracas at school so have great admiration for anyone who is musical. Great way to incorporate circles. Hope that you perkier tomorrow.
@casablanca I was a pianist in my younger days but don't really play anymore. I attempted to self teach myself the violin but gave up. My daughter is the musical one in the family. She's a natural with the violin (for some reason called Oliver) and the piano (no name)!
@wakelys I used to love the percussion instruments at school (I'm going back to primary school here)! Give me a tambourine any day but as for the castinets, I just couldn't coordinate/untangle them! 😆
I like your picture, but my daughter Yelena would tell your daughter that "only clean hands are allowed at the piano and rosin on the keys is a big NO!"
Yelena (14) just passed her Trinity grade 6 piano and started violin 3 years ago. Due to the move and other activities she stopped with her violin a year, but I am talking her into taking violin lessons again, especially as I expect all other activities will be on hold.
@ingrid01 Congratulations to your daughter on passing her grade 6. She is right and we probably don't treat our piano with the respect it deserves. I have my plants sitting on top of it and the cat often lays on the keys. The piano is very old and isn't in the best of health and even having been tuned is still a bit twangy. 😆
@serendypyty That makes a big difference that your piano is old. When Yelena was 7 our piano was new and I invented the rule that before touching it she should was her hands. She is still doing that... A few weeks ago a friend asked her to play something and the first thing she does is walking away to wash her hands...
