Last summer my eldest daughter reluctantly had her long hair cut much shorter to make it more manageable. Her hair was tied in 12 inch plaits and saved to send to a charity that makes wigs. She was really pleased with the result.
Ended up being 13" when measured! I was only aiming for 8 or 9, but when I was in the chair I just thought my hair will grow again, but idk if these kids' hair will, and if it will then when! So I just said to the hairdresser to stop measuring and to leave the band where it was and to go from there and chop it off! I like to think that some child or teenager will be happy again, at least for a little while! It's a shame you never know who got your hair and how many wigs it became a part of, but even just one is worth it! Look up the little princess trust for some more information!
