A grainy photo but had to include it in my calendar. I think this is a female Sparrowhawk, I've never seen one before especially in the garden. Please let me know if you think it is something else. It sat there for a few minutes before flying off and showing me it's gorgeous fanned tail feathers. I hope it comes back again soon.
You got a good shot of this predator. I like to see them but have a little concern for the songbirds. Of course by this time they knew it was there and were quiet as mice.
