This is a toy spider we tried to use to scare birds away which come to peck at the house but unfortunately it didn't work. It was a pretty uninteresting day today.
Cute toy! We have woodpeckers that like to knock on our home. I learned it is either because they are mating (and this attracts the ladies) or they are marking territory (and they like the sound). I was told that putting something reflective like a mylar balloon or tinfoil out will help dissuade them. Jeff put some aluminum around the chimney where they were pecking and it did help somewhat. They say you should cut strips that will flutter in the wind. The birds don't like the way the light flickers off the mylar.
