Lost in the world of books

Rotten weather outside, raining, cold and miserable, much better to stay inside with a good book.

Well, really had to stay in for the heating engineer and to take my daughter to the GP, but still too grim to go outside to take pictures

Three good things:
1. the thermostat on the heating is fixed so we now have a comfortable temperature without being cold or broiled.
2. sorted out the new Guides activity cards in to a folder ready for use - and planned out a few activities for the next few weeks
3. GP has agreed to refer my daughter somewhere else for treatment - the original plan was to refer to the same hospital where she's being treated already, but the experience there hasn't been great.

Thank you for looking and for getting the Droste watch to the PP.

I prefer to spend time looking at and commenting on your pictures rather than thanking you individually here, although I will try to make sure I answer any questions.
Delightful shot!

Very pretty shot. So appropriate for this time of year.

Very clever. I really like the sepia tone and the old book, they give the shot an old school mood.

Nothing like a good book when it's "inside weather" outside

Great positioning - and it made me try read upside down too. :)

@humphreyhippo it's a very old tiny children's book called The Hideaway House that I reckoned was about the right scale. It was handed down to me by my godmother, and the inscription inside is dated 1915.

@shannejw That's so cool!

This is so well done - the forced perspective aspect and tiny book makes the wooden doll appear almost life size!
So creative and executed!
