rainbow bottle

These stripes are rainbow coloured, honestly - a long sleeved t-shirt of my daughter's and my favourite bottle, In black and white for Flash of Red February, the last day of February. We had rain today and there was a real rainbow over the church, but that wouldn't work in b&w.

Three good things:
1. One of my bits of mending has unpicked OK and the new interfacing has stiffened the floppy collar, so I'm hoping this will work;
2. Daughter's shirt is coming on well
3. Today went better than I hoped - it's the anniversary of my assault

Good set-up! I like the way the glass plays with the stripes. I'm also glad that it was a good day for you and that a rainbow came after teh rain. My heart sunk at the day's significance.

The bottle is an interesting shape I can see why it is one of your favourites. I think my favourite part of the image however is the part where the striped background shows through the bottle. I might be tempted to crop in and make a sort of abstract with just that part.

@gardencat I did dither about doing just that, and played with various crops, but I would have had to crop a much longer thinner shape, and those shapes really aren't working on here currently. The last time I did something like this, I set it up better with a much straighter background (paper blutacked to a wall, better lighting), but where I set those shots up has been moved around with my daughter coming home, and I haven't worked out how and where to do indoor shots this time around. That bottle works well against an obviously straight stripe showing the distortions.

you wouldn't believe it but seeing rainbow in black and white is rather nice; it's like browsing through the pages of the old life magazines! i like the refracted image on the jar.
