This is for both the indigo of the Rainbow Challenge and for the Dogwood Challenge which is: Story Telling: Hometown
Tell us the story of your hometown. It could be a famous landmark, something the town is known for, or even just your favorite place to relax.
About the Story Telling category:
“Good photographers can take beautiful images of something. Great photographers can tell a story with an image. In this category you will take a prompt and turn it into a photographic story.”
The town where I live is an old market town with a traditional butcher shop, which is busy, particularly on Saturdays. It is no longer owned by the Church family who are still much around in the town. The last family owner had the ledgers showing sales of meat from Victorian times and there are photographs of this same shop with game hanging all around the window. The title comes from something that's often on the blackboard outside the shop. The town was famous for the special sausages made and still made by this butchers
Three good things:
1. We're both getting better from the evil lurgy and have more energy
2. My daughter is quilting the patchwork quilt she made (from bundles of fat quarters) in sections;
3. I'm part way through making a shirt - it would be much quicker if I wasn't having to redraft the pattern as I go along, but I will end up with a pattern that fits, I hope.
Thank you for looking and all your faves and amazing comments. You're all superstars. I prefer to spend time looking at your pictures rather than spending time thanking your individually below
Great capture. With all the supermarkets selling meat we have lost the great butcheries that used to be dotted all around. Love it when I come across one.
