I'm not sure if I will manage the current idea, which is a week of paperclip images, telling a story, but this is No 1, for:
1. Red for Monday's Rainbow Challenge
2. The 52 week Dogwood challenge, which this week is: Inspiration: Trash
Trash is your inspiration. Tell a story or create something beautiful.
About the Inspiration category:
“In this wide-open category, we start with a simple inspiration. Use this inspiration as creatively as you can. There are no rules so feel free to think outside of the box.”
The trash made me think of the paperclip images that people were creating when I was first here, back in 2011-12, (there are a few from then on the link, but not many) something I have never attempted. When I checked I found I had red, yellow, green, blue, pink, white and silver paperclips in different sizes, so seven colours and most of a rainbow. I've also used old wrapping paper and fruit netting in this composition,
Three good things:
1. Lemon suet pudding for lunch (we had leek and potato soup using soy milk for main course) - I found some gluten free vegetarian suet and have been experimenting with it;
2. New EpiPens for my daughter as hers are out of date - always nice to have;
3. Latest skill my daughter is learning is bra making
Thank you for looking and your faves and comments - I really didn't expect the wool from yesterday to make the PP, so wow. I prefer to look at your pictures rather than thank you individually below.
well, at least it comes out nice on your calendar. the colour really translates well and matches your two previous reds!
i have the idea of oil and water but i tried it the whole afternoon yesterday and in the end i just had to admit i suck at those things. i have a back up theme for this week but the execution would be a little bit difficult.
@summerfield oil and water is another challenge I want to try. I think the lessons learned here are that it's not easy matching backgrounds and subjects and if I keep playing with this idea, I will change things tomorrow.
@koalagardens the guy who is really good at this, @cjphoto managed a month in July 2017 - I wasn't around to see it, but when I went looking at the tags, I found his pictures. I remembered someone else whose pictures aren't around any more.
I remember Chris' paperclip photos and they were such fun. I think yours lives up to his in your own way- but I hope this pair has a better future in store than the wooden figures from Feb! (o: Very creative!!
Very cute! Have you since Chris Johnson's work with that? @cjphoto I think is his tag. You'd have to look back a few years, but he did a full series for about a month.
@taffy I didn't remember Chris's images, but did find them when I went and checked the tags (there's a link in my first blurb and a tag to him when replying to someone else here) - including his amazing month. There was someone else who had a series on the PP back in my first year here and they were all over Flickr then too. .
Amazing!!!! I love seeing your paperclip family. I loved giving personality to these guys when I did them way back. Love your style and the pop of color each shot has! :)
