The bud disappears in the bursting-forth

For green for the Rainbow Challenge and new buds for the Dogwood 52 week challenge which this week is:
Story Telling: New Beginnings
Our world is full of circular patterns; as some things end, others begin. Tell us a story of a New Beginning.

About the Story Telling category:
“Good photographers can take beautiful images of something. Great photographers can tell a story with an image. In this category you will take a prompt and turn it into a photographic story.”

This is a red horse chestnut. Horse chestnuts have the big sticky buds and produce conkers - this one is a hybrid. The title is a quotation from Hegel, and also makes a six word story

Three good things:
1. Daughter is massively better - the latest virus is going, so her breathing is improving;
2. Scored some entertaining goodies very reduced this evening, including a pair of trousers for £1.50, that I want for the fabric.
3. We enjoyed the wine gums that nearly featured today, green ones last

Thank you for looking and all your amazing responses and faves. I prefer to look at your pictures rather than spend time thanking you individually below
What kind of fruit? Is that?

Great capture of this lovely bud and the light on it. I like your narrative and the three good things, especially that your daughter is getting better :-)

@ludwigsdiana it's only from the cold that means she's been really unwell, she's still got something else going on that the consultants aren't doing anything about.

@shutterbug49 it's a red horse chestnut tree - that big sticky bud on the left is revealing the leaves and there's a flower head beginning to be revealed on the right. I would have like to have more than one shot at this, but I was with my daughter, taking her for her daily walk, and I wasn't going to get more than one shot.

Lovely capture Shanne, chestnuts are a favorite tree of mine.

Nicely captured for all your challenges. It's very hard to find Chestnut trees in the US. There was a blight that took most of them out many years ago. Pretty shot.

Nice shot - am amazed how you managed to find a single subject for all your challenges!
