Another try to get the moon setting over the Olympics. Clearly I was slightly more successful than yesterday as I looked at the moonset time and was actually there when the moon was still in the sky; a major help if you actually plan to photograph the moon. There was a lot of light cloud cover behind the mountains so by the time the moon was actually at the level of the mountains the sky was too light and the moon was to hidden to actually get a shot of it going down.
That does not mean I was not happy with the shots I took this morning. There were a couple that I actually looked at and went "I took that?" Seriously beautiful morning, if a bit cold (29 F., -2 C.) and I'm sure you will notice that the wind was not whipping the water into a froth this morning. The Olympic Mountains are west of Seattle so the sun was rising behind me. Carkeek Park sits on Shilshole Bay, part Puget Sound.
This looks magical! I think it's stunning! And you got up early another time to get a great shot, I have the atmost respect for you! I think I'll never see anything like this, at least for a long time, so: a fav!
Another cool shot. I was inspired by your moon shot the other day so I tried again and yep all deleted, except one and I think it may have to go too....oh well!
Very Beautiful shot Shannon. Clap clap...and I admire you for really taking the time to go out on the cold weather for this...but my, it sure was worth it.
