Thanks to a late cancellation of a trip to Yorkshire we had an unexpected day off work. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and so we did what most folk do on a perfect day to be outdoors. We went shopping. We have been trying to find time to buy a decent walking jacket for me, and a quality tripod for @shepherdmanswife, which in practice meant a trip to Nottingham via Loughborough. I was successful, @shepherdmanswife less so (but she is much better informed that she was). On the way back we stopped to walk the dogs on Bardon Hill, north Leicestershire, a favoured route many years ago, when @shepherdmanswife lived nearby, and I took Josh, her German Shepherd at the time, for long walks on and around the hill. It was time to introduce his successors to the area. Thanks to the time taken by @shepherdmanswife to become better informed about her tripod, it was dusk as we approached the top, and I turned to see this view of @shepherdmanswife as she photographed the view in the gathering darkness. “Wait there!” I said fumbling for my camera. Unusually she did as asked….
