@shepherdmanswife has been impressed by some recently posted images that involve photographing trees, or some similar vertically based subject, and moving the camera vertically during the shot. There is a proper name for this, generally quoted as an abbreviation, but I cannot recall it. She showed me an example or two, and asked me what I thought. Until she educated me on the technique, I couldn’t decide whether the shot was out of focus, or whether it was a case of severe camera shake. Forgive me, I’m just old fashioned. @shepherdmanswife asked me if I knew of any suitable avenue of trees, and I recalled these from my dog walking route on Bardon Hill many years ago, and so since we were in the area we ascended the hill, stopping to photograph the trees. Since I was also keeping an eye on the pooches, I kept my shot simple, although did accept @shepherdmanswife ‘s suggestion that a bit of imaginative processing wouldn’t go amiss. I must admit that it was her imagination, rather than mine, that suggested this result.
Sorry about lack of comments on your photos - I have rather a lot "on my plate" at the moment. I will catch up as soon as I can.
FAV! This is stunning! Great work to the pair of you! I love the verticality, the strips of light and the branches seemingly reaching out for each other in the center. Beautiful and a tad mysterious at the same time.
