A fill in – another garden bird shot from a few weeks ago. Robins are supposed to enjoy the mealworms in the tray, leaving the various hanging feeders for the tits and finches of different varieties. This one forgot to read the Guide to Feeding Garden Birds, and is a regular customer of the suet feeder. Sometimes the feed tray is occupied by a large fat pigeon who has learned that it is the perfect place to perch comfortably while he fills his gullet from the adjacent seed feeder. And sometimes the feed tray is occupied by a large fat rat who, even in daylight, raids the bird feeders. As everyone knows, no-one ever has A visiting rat. A rat is never alone…. I have tried to persuade @shepherdmanswife to call in the pest control chap to distribute his little blue rat sweeties, but she is having none of it. Since we haven’t see a rat for a few weeks, maybe one of our neighbours has been a little less rat-friendly.
