Life has got in the way of 365 for the last few weeks, but while I’ve been away from the project we’ve seen the last of winter, as cold winds have given way to mild, if wet, weather. The clock has gone forward an hour, and it was a bit of a shock a week ago to wake up before light. I find the dark morning are the worst side of winter - the alarm wakes me from a deep sleep, and I am grumpy for at least an hour as I nurse my pint mug of tea, eventually reaching full wakefulness over the morning newspaper. The mornings haven’t been quite as dark as in winter, and I can watch the dawn developing through the steam of my tea, as the sky brightens behind our neighbour’s trees, and at least it is fully light by dog walking time.
Dawn is such a lovely time of day. I love the stillness of the new day. Unfortunately our days are starting to shorten and I now have to delay may walk by nearly an hour. I'm going out at the time I am usually home already by during summer! Nearly time to swop morning walk to afternoon walk.
