The church at Betws-Y- Coed, where @shepherdmanswife and her mother spent two hours happily browsing and not buying anything. I’m not sure about you 365 ladies, but in my household “browsing” and “shopping” are apparently two separate independent activities. Even shop assistants accept the refusal of an offer of help as being perfectly normal; “No thank you. We are just browsing”. “Browsing” is a game of tease, nearly making a purchase, and indeed giving the matter serious consideration. “Yes, this is just what I want, perfect, look at the quality and I love the design…..but no, I don’t think I will….” And the item is replaced. The longest browse was in an outdoor clothing shop, where fortunately I was able to settle comfortably and contentedly on a chair and read my latest e-book using the Kindle app on my phone.
Too true -you have got into the mind of a woman! I always 'browse', don't like being shadowed by a sales lady! My mother went here in 1929 on her English - Welsh - journey! Loved the name!
i have discovered that very few people, men or women, enjoy shopping or browsing unless it is for things they like. so enjoyed your narrative. might take a bit to get out of a camera shop. . . or for me, chocolates.
Oh I so understand browsing.........usually done on line these days, camera bags is my current browse subject............one day it might become 'shopping' but browsing will do for now. I am going on a landscape photography course in Betws-Y- Coed in October :) Will look out for this church :)
