We are on the East Coast, and the wind this week is blowing from the west. By the time it reaches us it should be worn out. So why is there still so much of it? Yesterday, having carefully collected lots of water from the Atlantic, the wind hung on grimly to it, clasping the water to its bosom has it climbed over the Cumbrian mountains, refusing to let go of the water as it the wind passed over the Pennines, and the wind finally let the water slip from its fingers as it passed over us. Despite rapidly donning waterproofs we got drenched.
