A poppy on the edge by shepherdman

A poppy on the edge

The crop of cattle-beans in the fields behind our home has been infiltrated by a crop of wild poppies, a lacy red blanket spread over a bed of green undulations. The poppies glow in the early and late low light of morning and evening, and individuals at the field edge fluoresce as the sun shines through the petals. This image was taken just a few minutes ago as I was returning home after the morning dog walk.
This is really superb. Such lovely lighting coming from behind the flower.

You're right. It does seem to glow. Love the light on the "hairs" on the stem and the plant behind it.
