A frosty clear evening on Croft Hill, with the sun making its final appearance for the day behind the copse on the side of the Hill. These trees tend to make a 365 appearance at this time of the year, when the sun sets directly behind the leafless branches. The rabbit-cropped short turf on the Hill has been whte with frost all day, worn smooth in places by the influx of visitors walking off various yule-tide meals over the last few days. A young couple were at the top, and after exchanging greetings, they started down the slope. The young lady's fashonable boots promptly headed down a littl quicket than the lady herself, and she made a three point landing. What is a gentleman to do? She was a bit shaken and embarrassed, and so I decided to leave the TLC to her boyfriend. Once I had established that no serious harm had resulted, I complemented her on her stylish landing...
Wonderful picture, but did you REALLY compliment her on her landing? I hope for your sake she had a good sense of humor! Anyway, a fav all the way around.
One of my lasting memories of Japan is walking to work for an early call (6:30 a.m.?) and seeing an elegant young lady in cocktail dress kind of relax onto the sidewalk with her can of beer, giggling, legless. Boyfriend exits the club a few seconds later, sweeps her up without breaking stride, and she didn't spill a drop of the beer through the whole evolution. Wonderful country.
