Roofs Ancient and Modern by shepherdman

Roofs Ancient and Modern

A sort of fill in, inasmuch that it isn't the sort of image that I usually take. I was strolling down New Walk, one of Leicester's Victorian pedestrian thoroughfares, when I notced this juxtaposition of ancient and modern architecture. In the foreground St Johns Church, which I believe is medieval, behind which is a reasonably attractive office block from the 1990's. And in the background a 1960's block. Whatever the success of the music scene, the 1960's were not strong, architecturally...
Colourful mixture of shapes! Well spotted

You're right! What were we thinking in the 60's?

Interesting mixture of styles sums leicester up quite well :) Don't know if it's true or not but I was told the ornate lamposts on New Walk are the same casting as the champs-elyees in France.
