A path climbs from Huncote to the edge of Croft Quarry, but when someone in front of us took this route, we took the more socially-distancing option of the alternative steep steps to a higher part of the edge. We were rewarded by a kestrel sitting on a fencepost in late afternoon sun. @shepherdmanswife did not have her camera, but was prepared to lower her standards by borrowing mine. The kestrel waited patiently as we took turns with the camera.
