I have lots of these beautiful pink flowers in my garden. Anyone know what they're called? Would like to know. Are they pink petals or pink leaves? Look like leaves! Have a look in large view to see the detail although I have taken it with shallow dof. Love my macro!
Mystery solved! The flowers are Astrantia's. Looked it up in a gardening book!
Very nice shot and composition, I really can't help you with the identification but Hazel, @quietpurplehaze might be able to help you. Sweet to see you and Shepherdman next to each other!!!
@ness50@steampowered@kittikat Thank you, at least i'm not the only one who doesn't know what this beautiful flower is called! Thanks for the fav Kitti.
@tishpics I put mine on before going to work early this morning. Shepherdman was biking into work so left after me. I guess he put his on straight after I put mine on.....I didn't notice!
Thanks for the advice to contact Hazel. I have asked her to have a look. Let's see if she knows. I hope so, then I can name it instead of calling it a pink flower!
Hi there, I'm sorry but I've failed miserably as I've never seen this flower before. I've asked my husband who knows more about plants and flowers than I do and he cannot help either. I'm sending this to another 365 friend who is extremely knowledgeable about plants in the hope that he might have the answer. You are in England I guess?
Really like your shot and am now following you for that, also in case I find any more interesting puzzles here!!
@quietpurplehaze thank you for trying and thanks for following me. Yes we are in Leicestershire . Now I am even more intrigued as to what flowers we have in our garden. Hope your friend knows!
@truedee I went down the garden to have another look at them and they do have green leaves further down the stems. Some of them are as tall as 75cm but most are a little shorter. Thanks for your comment. Glad you like it
@khirsch they are called astrantia. They were in the garden when we bought the house 10 years ago. They disappear in winter and come back in late spring. Thanks for your comments. 😄
