This was the M69 this afternoon as the sun went down. Luckily I had taken my DSLR to work today in anticipation of getting this shot. I was a bit too late to get the sun going down on the horizon but still managed to capture the colourful sky and the motorway full of ghost cars and lorries! I particularly like how the headlights on the right light up the road surface but there's no sign of the car. I also like the bluish ghost of a lorry on the left. This is my first attempt at night traffic and am quite pleased with the outcome.
Well I don't know much about this type of photography but it looks amazing. Nice straight light trails, wonderful clarity and tail end of the sunset. Fav
Chantal, this is very well done! Were you up on a pedestrian bridge? I love how the various cars leave these abstract trails. Been meaning to do this, but cannot find the right vantage point...
You did it again..You led me to the FAV button! This is a great shot..I love the light trails, the framing, the clouds the hiway..I just down right LOVE this photo!
@zoomjoyce thanks Joyce. I hope you are keeping well. Does it get cold this time of year where you live? I bet you're going to be busy with those pears now. Shame to let them rot!
@shepherdmanswife It is very cold here right now we are having a winter storm with ice. I have been feeling fairly well Thanks so much for asking. As for the pears they are all admidst the ground except for a few of them, and you can bet now that I know what they are I will try to follow a good recipe for them..I am looking forward to it.
THis is a great long exposure! The lines are terrific, as is the sky. I love that section of the road where the light from a nonexistent car is falling!
M1?
I used to live in the Midlands - Nottinghamshire near Ikea, Derby near the cricket ground and various places in and around Leicester.

@lucypics@steampowered Wow, thanks for letting me know! Fantastic! That is so unexpected! Is there any way to find out which of your photos make TT other than checking each week? Has @abirkhill created a link to the TT for a 365 user like he has for the PP? That would be great if he has! Thank you both for telling me. I am feeling very happy, especially as I went to quite some planning and racing to get to the motorway before I lost the sun etc, and it was my first attempt at night time long exposure and without a tripod! Whoopee!
@shepherdmanswife don't worry Chantal, your friends will always come to congratulate you! Then give them a special tag so you can keep them all in one place.:)
Sorry for the bulk reply but I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who helped this photo get to the TT this week. I was shocked to hear it had made it. So unexpected to me. I'm stunned but so happy to see it there. I really appreciate your support, comments, faves etc. This is a wonderful project! Have a nice weekend everyone.
