I was in London again for the weekend staying with my son @yogibear. We went to the Bird Sanctuary in Eltham and I watched in horror as this turtle eyed up the duck and her ducklings who were on her nest in the middle of the pond. Who was going to have a go at who? I was so worried that the turtle was going to eat the ducklings and that I may be watching their demise and wouldn't be able to stop it.
Luckily after 15 mins of watching, the duck jumped into the pond followed by 2 of her 4 ducklings. The other 2 followed a few minutes later, leaving the turtle to the ducks nest. Phew!
That was enough excitement for one day!
The green that you see is as it was. The pond was totally covered in duck weed.
Wonderful photo! You needn't have worried. Painted turtles don't normally go after ducklings. If it had been a snapping turtle though, the outcome could have been tragic. ;)
This is well seen and very pleasing. I am not sure what post production software you are using, but if you are using Photoshop (the industry standard) and or Lightroom you could just reduce the effect of the green a tad. I don't know why the greens always look far too saturated (not just your photos, but everyones!) and in this case it distracts from the subject matter. I hope you don't mind the critique?
Super find and capture.
