I got up at 3.30 am this morning and left home at 4 am to travel up the M1 and across country to Mam Tor in the Peak District in the hope that the Hope Valley would be submersed in mist at sunrise.
This is a photo of the cement works in Hope, just the other side of Castleton which was buried under the mist until the sun came up and burnt it off. What a wonderful scene it was. Well worth getting up so early and travelling so far to get the shot.
Love the layers and the subtle pastel tones... hate the idea of getting up at 03h30 - I would normally have only been in bed half-an-hour or so by then!
I know this view so well but you have captured it in such a fabulous light with that low cloud - wow! You have made a shot of cement works beautiful! Well worth that early start! Fav of course!
First of all....you get an A+ for getting up so dang early - you go girl! And then look at your reward for rising so early - this exquisite, one of a kind image! So much to look at and your composition is perfection!
