The Gathering, from The Mom Project by shesnapped

The Gathering, from The Mom Project

They gather in the grasses at sunset, for rest and for nourishment. Each will tell of her day and reflect on her journey. For though they travel in formation, their journeys are individual, the experiences personal. For some, it is their first migration, the first time they’ve traveled so great a distance, and they are awed at seeing lakes become streams, mountains become plains, forests become deserts. They ponder the meaning of these differences, and how best to respond to them. Many have flown the route so often that the landscape beneath them has become nearly invisible. Yet other seasoned travelers find that each passage reveals something new, some previously unseen treasure. And as dusk turns to darkness, they marvel at the mystery of how so unique a group always, and without fail, ascends as one.

My pic, Mom's words.

@francoise Francoise, it's a project my mother and I are doing together that is so much fun! I posted the details with the first collaborative shot that I posted to 365 here: http://365project.org/shesnapped/365/2014-12-02

@livvy Hmmmmmm! Definitely a challenge! Do you mean silhouette, fill flash, or does it matter? (Or am I even allowed to ASK questions??)
December 13th, 2014
@shesnapped Oh, I missed that one. And the food one too, awesome food pic, that. What a great idea for a project with your mom.
December 13th, 2014
@shesnapped ask all you want. I left the interpretation up to you. Usually if I don't understand the concept I search on 365 for samples or google http://365project.org/tags/Backlighting?page=3
If you need something different, would you like to try to represent your favorite book or movie scene?

This is such a beautiful image with the golden light behind them, the one's wings uplifted, the softness of the surroundings. Your Mother's words are so beautiful and bring a whole new meaning to this photograph.
