Heron milestone by shesnapped

Heron milestone

Yes, another heron. Yes, from the other day. I'm posting this one because it's a huge step for me. I have NEVER caught a heron in flight and gotten him this sharp! I know it's not tack sharp, but it's the sharpest I'VE ever gotten, and I just had to share him!

On another note, completely unrelated, I pointed out to my very pregnant daughter-in-law who is expecting my first grandbabies ANY DAY now, (twins, may I excitedly remind you!) that tonight is a full moon, and she responded this morning by telling me that she had a rather restless night last night, and that she "just didn't feel right". And right now she's having hot flashes, something that's never happened before..... OH MY!!!!!
Gorgeous capture of this heron in flight. Great clarity and DoF

Super flight shot. Did you scare him? I've done that to get flying shots.

Wonderful colour in this shot! He has a lot of black. I have never got one as good as this and you must be so pleased. I don't even see herons flying!

You have every reason to be excited about catching this heron in flight and in such great focus! And how exciting about your twin grandchildren possibly being ready to make their entrance into this world. Best wishes to the whole family.

Wow, great in-flight shot! As your get-pushed partner, I've been browsing through your album and enjoying your photos. It looks like you will be busy this week with twin grandbabies! Congratulations in advance. So, since you will be taking photos of them anyway, my challenge is for you to share a sepia or black and white portrait of the new additions. What an exciting time for you and your family!

@genealogygenie Kim! Fabulous challenge, and I'm going to take you up on this regardless, but what if they don't arrive before Sunday?
January 6th, 2015
I realized that could be a possibility after I posted, so the alternate challenge will be an abstract image in black and white.
January 6th, 2015
@genealogygenie Ooooooooh, yes. I've been afraid to try that..... Ok! I'm in! And I'll do the baby portrait as soon as they arrive nonetheless - deal?

Very nice sharpness indeed! Both the shutter speed and good fast focus on your part brought it together for you. Super!
